Our Curriculum

Rising 7th grade YES Scholars participate in our Columbia University based summer program, which blends field trips around New York City, outdoor experiences, test prep for high school exams, and a culminating final project.

Beginning in 7th grade and continuing throughout 8th grade students receive weekly in-school sessions, and weekly Saturday enrichment programming at Columbia University. YES programming is additionally focused on the preparation of our scholars for high school applications, including screened public, specialized, and independent high schools.

YES New York City

As Scholars progress through the YES trajectory in high school, they benefit from individualized programming, including but not limited to: high school and college admissions counseling, resume building, SAT Prep, access to summer programs tailored to their interests, and a strong community of their peers.

Through social-emotional support, involvement with family and community, and a long-term commitment to each student's individual path, YES seeks to empower students in every aspect of their lives.

YES New York City
YES Los Angeles

In total, we currently support over 100 students. All of whom come from racial, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds that have traditionally been underserved by New York City Public Schools.
